Voici un système de reconnaissance faciale capable d’identifier un seul visage parmi 36 millions et cela en seulement une seconde grâce à des caméras biométriques. Cette rapidité est permise par le fait que cette nouvelle technologie filme et enregistre simultanément puis répertorie chaque visage en fonction de leurs spécificités biométriques.
Par conséquent, trouver une personne sur plusieurs heures d’enregistrement ne pose aucun problème, cela s’apparenterait à une recherche sur une base de données. Une simple carte d’identité ou même une photo Facebook suffiraient. Toutefois, ce logiciel possèdent quelques limitent : les visages ne devront pas dépasser un angle de 30° verticalement et horizontalement. Autre détail d’importance, ils devront faire au minimum 40 x 40 pixels. Quoi qu’il en soit, on ne peut s’empêcher de penser à l’utilisation qui pourrait en être faite par la police et le gouvernement qui pourront bientôt se doter de cette technologie. Et impossible de ne pas repenser à des films comme 1984 ou Minority Report.
